Pretty interesting game I had a little bit of fun overall and it made me laugh with its hilarious moments. I played this in a random games and I enjoyed it overall
We really enjoyed playing & discussing KING OF THE CUL-DE-SAC on Indie Game Club (it’s like a book club for indie games)! Special thanks to the developer for joining us LIVE in the chat!
You can watch the video here:
Keep up with Indie Game Club from POTIONS & PIXELS here:
By just the look of the images you put on the description, I know that this will be a good visual novel, and turns out I was right.
It was over the top, comic book like, action packed interactive novel. It really makes me feel like I'm seeing a scene from a comic book, which is amazing. The non standard way (the basic look) of the interactive/visual novel design also makes it more interesting and have it owns vibe. Totally enjoyable.
Just finished playing, and we have to say, we had a lot of fun! The art and style of the game look so professional, you'd never guess it's an indie game! Plus, the fact that it was made with an engine like Ren'Py makes that all the more impressive!
The plot and characters are cute and entertaining, as well as creative (we especially liked Bram), and overall, this was very enjoyable! 10/10 would recommend.
I'm playing on android and it looks like it didn't size correctly or something? The speech is off-center in the bubbles and the bottom third is covered in a weird dark bar that makes the text hard to read.
Hm - I've been using an emulator on my computer for the android build. Let me get the apk, and test it on my phone.
Thanks for letting me know! I'll try to fix it as fast as possible!
And now it went from the NASCAR Eagle back to Bram saying "Thanks Karah" and then skipped to chapter 4, to the alien pyramid?
Gonna write that one down as well, but I think I know what the problem is - I had to create a really hacky solution to fix another problem the cropped up late in development, and long story short, there are now large invisible buttons that persistently stay on the screen whenever I forgot to manually dismiss them.
Again, thanks for giving me the heads up on these bugs!
Hi! Can i ask you if this game will ever released?
Yup! Finished the art for the last chapter just a couple days ago. Fingers crossed, I should have an Open Beta release by mid-August.
P.S.: If you find the same question on Steam, it's just me
P.P.S.: I added some tags on the Steam page, because i found this game checking all the game in the store, but the other people aren't Asperger like me... XD
Wow! So impressed with every aspect of this (demo) game. Can hardly believe this was made with Renpy as every part of the game's interface has been customized. The art style, the presentation, the storytelling feel light years beyond your typical Visual Novel. More like a playable comic. It's so refreshing to see someone push what is possible in this genre and really create something new and fresh. The character of Karah is hilarious, expressive and just the best!
Can't wait for the final game release!!
hell yeah super into this concept

Thank you! And I made a bit of a hash of the lets play video so probably didn't quite do it justice Haha But I will do a full play-through as soon as the full game goes live, it looks like it's going to be a great game!
Made a video
Love it! Gave it a like and subscribed!
Funny and a little disturbing, looking forward to the full release. The haunted house family is... something else. :)
Thanks! I watched and liked the vid, and I'm going through the rest of your channel now too. FYI, your "weenis" is the flap of skin on your elbow, but it's a word that sounds like something more obscene, so kids love saying it once they learn it, until they're old enough to do adult swears.
I can't say enough positive things about this. From the title to the nuances in the animation and text, it's hilarious from start to finish. It feels very cinematic, with perfect composed scenes and an engaging story. It was well worth my time and I really can't wait to see more.
I loved your demo! Can't wait for the full release :))
